Get Your Card BackIf you signed a card with SEIU, your card will not be used as this only authorized SEIU to act as your representative.
If you signed a card with AFSCME, even if it was many years ago, and if it wasn't your intent to join or support the union, you can request to have your card returned to you. Send a request that says; "I hereby revoke membership in AFSCME/CCPT. Please remove me from any list showing support for your union. I am asking that my card be returned to me immediately." Sign A De-Authorization PetitionThese petitions will be presented to our legislators. They will also be presented to the Commissioner of Mediation Services prior to cards being counted. If a provider signs a union authorization card and one of these petitions, they cancel each other out at the time of counting. This is one more safety for those providers who believe they signed cards but have been unsuccessful in having them returned. These should be no more than six months old, so if you signed one prior to that, you will need to sign a new one.
